Conclusion

I would have never thought I would begin the conclusion of a SSD review the way I am going to start this one. The Apacer A7 Turbo is absolutely the best looking form of storage review I have ever saw. Apacer deck the unit in a awesome looking black carbon fiber like layer that seriously take the boring level of such a drive to a all time low. Mounted in a case with a see-thru window and the drive mounted in such a way were it can be seen would be sweet. Modders take note.

Now to more serious matters. The first question many would ask themselves is do I really need an solid state drive? The answer would probably be out but I would venture to say I am sure you would find a way to convince yourself to get one. In the time I spent with the A7 Turbo I have yet to find any reasons not to have one. The speed a drive like this have to offer is outstanding. Maybe not at fast as some of the SLC models out on the market like the ones from OCZ. But the MLC based A7 is no snail by any means.

Backed by 128MB of cache and a multi-channel controller write and read times are 230MB/s and 150MB/s respectfully. With such numbers you can get Windows booted in about 20 seconds or so and breezing through favorite games in no time at all. The best thing of all about the A7 Turbo is the low power consumption and lack of noise. This two characteristics was enough to win me over. At less than one watt of power and vitually no noise at all you can not go wrong with a SSD.

We search several U.S. retailers and could not find any pricing on this drive. This could be due to the fact the drive is brand new to the market and still shipping. We will update you as soon as we find some of the more popular selling the drive.
