Introduction to the Kingston SSDNow V+ 200 120GB Solid State Drive
I have being around Kingston solid state drives from the very beginning it started back in my retail days. So I am quite familiar with them. But this is the first time we have had one on the bench. Kingston has catered to the enthusiast as well as the enterprise crowds.
If you did not think there was a difference than you are wrong. Most of the time the enterprise or business class drives tends to be tested different and in the case of the business class tend to include some type of data protection and other means to make the drive more reliable. And this is the case for other Kingston V+ 200 we will be testing today.
The V+ 200 is offered in several different size variations including: 60GB, 90GB, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB. The drive takes advantage of a SandForce SF-2281 controller that has made a big name for itself over the past year and a half. And if you have been in the market for a SSD you should that the SF-2281 controller is capable of reproducing some really nice data transfer number which we will talk about in the review.
