On one of my daily magical journeys across wide world intarwebz, I spotted a link, to a link, to a VALVe page which talked about how educators are utilizing Portal (and other games) to teach their students with. Seriously, I think I would've actually done rather well in Math and Science had they made it interesting like this, alas I failed... at least at Geometry :( My inability to find the surface area of a golf ball aside, VALVe considers this tactic a wise one and backs it completely, resulting in the offering up of (the first) Portal for free!! You've got until September 20th to nab it off Steam, so if you're big into puzzles, are sick of the 2D Flash types and want a bit more challenging game -- say one that has a psychopathic homicidal computer AI hell-bent on your misery, but promising cake at the end -- then you seriously need to check out Portal while it's still free! Head on over to Learn With Portals to find out all about it.
