Testing
I used the Ghost for about a week and I used it on several different machines: laptop, gaming rig, test bench and a home theatre PC. Granted using the mouse on my server, test bench and home theatre really isn't a real test for mouse usage. However, my laptop which I use everyday without missing a day and on my gaming rig I was able to really see what the Ghost was all about. My game of choice right now is COD: WAW. The first setting I tried the game and the mouse with was 4000 DPI this was far too fast for me as I often over shot my target. 1600 DPI was more in my range and suited me pretty well. On my desktop I still elected to use the 1600 setting but on my laptop, I slowed it down to 800 and I felt right at home.
As for as the feel of the mouse, over a period of time I felt the Ghost was too narrow for me. Either that was the case or I was just too used to my G5 from years of usage.
Conclusion
I would like to thank Gigabyte for sending me over the GM-M8000 Gaming Mouse for testing. Ever since I started using it on a daily basis, I have really began to appreciate the accuracy and overall performance of the mouse. I used mostly on my laptop to do my daily tasks and often used the mouse on random surfaces, even my sofa, and it responded great.
For the gamer I am sure many of you will love what the M8000 has to offer. There are several adjustments that can be made on-the-fly prior to assigning macros with the included software. And if the gamer in you needs to frag like there is no tomorrow in your favorite FPS, then it gets no better than the 4000DPI. At this point, the M8000 is one of the fastest mice on the market.
With every new mouse you purchase, there is always a break-in period where you need to adjust yourself to its form and the Gigabyte mouse is no different. After a week or two of usage I can promise you that you will not regret getting this mouse.
