you be a great media drive as can fit tons of stuff on there without having to have a bunch of drives in your system taking up space. I would love one of these for the HTPC/gaming rig I'm putting together.

That is a ton of storage but I certainly don't need that much yet. It would be a good backup drive for everything in the house but I wonder how they'll do as far as reliability.

I don't need it too...I have actually 1TB inside my pc plus 1 external drive usb+sata2 and 1 NAS, total 3TB. I'm waiting for a 128GB SSD to arrive

If I picked up something like this I'd put it in partitions and use it for a media drive on my htpc.

I could use it. Combined with a 240gb ssd I would have a perfect system. Speed and massive amounts of storage. If you "Backup" PS3 and Wii games then you can chew up drive space fast.
