So i recently got an Alienware M11X and I absolutely love it. The only problem I have is that I hate using the trackpad. My hands are too big for this tiny little trackpad. So I decided to use my old Microsoft mouse I had laying around. But that mouse didn't match up with the sleek looking laptop. So I decided to mod it. I started with this:
![]() As you can see it's a pretty bland mouse ![]() First thing I had to do was figure out how to take it apart. ![]() So I had to remove the pads on the bottom to remove the screws to take it apart.

Now I took the shell to my garage to get it ready for paint.
![]() Looking at the inside I can see the tabs holding it all together. ![]() It took me a little bit but I got all the pieces apart. ![]() Now to do some light sanding to get it ready for paint.

Now after I cleaned all the dust off I set it out to paint. The body and main buttons are getting a matte black finish.
![]() And the side and base are getting a shiny black finish. ![]() Now after letting it dry overnight and getting it all assembled together I thought it was missing something so I printed out the Alienware logo and put it on top. I wanted to make the eyes clear so the red led light would shine thru but then I would have to remove the mounting breckets inside and then it wouldn't hold together. So I decided to just sand the eyes off to create a contrast effect.
