G.Skill DDR3 PC3-16000 Kit Review

We'll have a peek at the fastest memory that G.Skill has to offer. It comes in a Tri Memory package (three DIMMs) and sums up to 3GB of memory. Now, where standard JEDEC (a very safe qualification for memory) based memory runs at 1333 MHz, the modules we'll put to the test today are in fact rated at 2000 MHz. And that is fairly astonishing, really.

The G.Skill Pi Edition PC-3 12800 6GB Ram Kit showed exactly why G.Skill has earned the respect and loyalty of hardware enthusiasts. The kits arrived in excellent condition and they performed better than promised. They also look very nice and proved to be extremely stable as our testing revealed no weaknesses even when pushed past their rated speeds with tighter than stock timings.

The Trident Series from G.Skill is a very affordable kit, but manages up to 2000 MHz right out of the box. The kit also has very nice high quality heatspreaders. We push the kit to 1.65 V and way beyond that to see check for additional OC potential or if it manages to impress us with a great price / performance ratio.
