HD Tune is a Hard Disk utility which has the following functions:
- Benchmark: measures the performance
- Info: shows detailed information
- Health: checks the health status by using SMART
- Error Scan: scans the surface for errors
- Temperature display
HD Tune may also work with other storage devices such as memory cards, USB sticks, iPods, etc.
The above image shows a screen shot of HD Tune while using the Duet through the USB port. Speeds are great as they can be using the aging port. We were amazed of the sustained transfer rate of the Duet.
Here we have the Duet connected to the eSATA port of my case. For larger file transfer this way is highly recommended as it cuts down on the transfer time compared to USB.
