E-mail Print
User Rating: / 3PoorBest
dynatron geniusThe Genius is a cooler that you would call a big boy. A cooler that is much bigger than your typical cooler. A cooler that is aimed at defending the heat that is produced by overclocked processors. Many will say their is too many coolers to choice from already, but when you have the experience of Dynatron chances are they can improve on things. The Genius aka G950 is an 800 gram twin tower cooler that is fully capable with all the current AMD and Intel sockets.

Titan Skalli CPU Cooler

E-mail Print
titan skalliYou've seen the Fenrir take on the Intel i7 920. Today, you're in for more Viking-themed cooling action. That's right, the Skalli from Titan is stepping up to the plate to see if he can put our test bench CPU on ice like his bigger brother. Sure, it's not as large and doesn't bring quite as much metal to the table, but Direct Touch Technology is Direct Touch Technology. This mid-sized heat pipe tower-designed CPU cooler wants its chance to shine.

SpinQ VT That's right. We're taking a look at a new cooler, which is showing as much promise as the above coolers. This is the new version of the SpinQ, dubbed the SpinQ VT. The VT fins are not hanging at the end of the heat-pipes at a 90 degree angle, but stands tall and straight. The SpinQ is topped off by a red glow and it makes everything bright and vibrant. Lets take a look at this new cooler.

Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B CPU Cooler

Prolimatech MegahalemsThe original Megahalems have been on the market for some time but today we will be take a look at the Rev B of the cooler. There are a few minor difference that set the first cooler apart from the second. One would be the shiny stain-less top fin and the addition of socket 1156 mounting hardware. The tower style cooler when looked at a glance would remind you of a typical tower cooler. But the center divide which is a narrow lane of open space is how it differs from the masses. Honestly, I am to anxious to get into the testing phase of this cooler just to see how well it really performs.

Titan Fenrir CPU Cooler

E-mail Print

FerirDo you have one of the new i7 or i5 processors yet?  You do? I guess you're probably going to overclock it too. That's why you bought it, right? Our next review sample, the Titan Fenrir, is ready to take your air cooling on head first. "But, wait. Who is Titan? What is the Fenrir?," you ask. Titan is a new kid on the cooling block and they've been making some noise with the performance on their Flagship Cooler, Fenrir. Taking its name after the Norse demi-god wolf who bit the hand off the God Tyr, the Fenrir has turned out to be quite the cooler among some air cooling enthusiast circles.

Cooler Master NotePal U2 Laptop Cooler

User Rating: / 7PoorBest

Cooler Master NotePal U2The Cooler Master NotePal U2 is a hot looking new unit designed with one thing in mind, keeping your laptop cool.  Cooler master does this with an amazing looking design.  Its frame is made out of aluminum with some rather stylish rubber mounts that combine aesthetics and usefulness.   I may have mentioned this before, but it’s worth saying again, heat is the killer of laptops, so you do whatever you can to remove heat from the equation.  After all, a laptop cooler is far cheaper than a new laptop!  And if there is one company that you can trust who has cooling running through their veins, it’s Cooler Master.  They have been around the DIY PC market for over a decade providing cases, CPU coolers, and chipset coolers.  They’re also widely respected for the wide range of power supplies they produce.  Their main goal is to provide the best thermal solutions, and they are well known for their cooling expertise.  So let’s take a look at the NotePal U2 and see if their vast experience has produced a winning product yet again.

Spire TherMax ProIt has been some time since we reviewed a CPU cooler from Spire. Their coolers were how we first got to know them.  These days they have power supplies like the BlackMoon we recently reviewed. They are also known for manufacturing casings, hard drive enclosures and even cooling fans. Spire is a company that wants to offer the people of the world a complete array of components. Today, we will be reviewing their newest CPU cooler called the ThermMax Pro. The TherMax Pro is designed to replace that stock CPU cooler and offer better than stock cooling performance, while maintaining a good performance to noise ratio. Like any other product, we will give the TherMax Pro its time on the bench just to see how well it does on an everyday system.

Tuniq Tower 120 ExtremeTuniq has finally released the new and improved Tuniq Tower 120, the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme. The coolers may share similar names, but the new extreme doesn't isn't just a younger brother. It sports a new style of aluminum fans, a wider base and a fan controller. It also looks as if Tuniq was aiming to satisfy the Intel Core i5/i7 owners. With this being said, lets take a closer look at the new cooler.

Cool Age Frozen Orb X120 Transform

E-mail Print
User Rating: / 12PoorBest

X120TFThe X120 is based on a technology Cool Age is banking on called WIND TUNNEL. The idea behind it is to creat more surface area while keeping the cooler small. This extra surface area is created by shaping the fins of the cooler into layers of tiny loops. Air is pushed into the loops to create the wind tunnel effect. The technical talk sounds good, but I would like to say that the X120 is very impressive-looking with six heat pipes used to transfer from the base of the cooler. But are the extra heat pipes and the fancy technology enough to compete with the top dogs of the industry? We will see very soon.

Cooler Master Choiix Air Through Stash Laptop Cooler

User Rating: / 2PoorBest

choiixCooler master is a well known company that has been around for many years.  They are known for their cases, desktop cooling solutions, power supplies and laptop cooling.  Of course this leads us to why we are here today.  Cooler Master was nice enough to send us a Choiix Air Through Stash laptop cooler.  Laptops are continuing to take over desktop sales these days.  One of the biggest downfalls of laptops is their shortened life span over a desktop and the largest contributing factor to that is HEAT.  Heat is the nemesis of almost all PC’s, but with desktops increased size and room you are not so limited with cooling options.  Of course with your laptop you don’t have the room or even the options to fix your cooling solutions, so you have to look outside your PC to find a fix.  This is of course where Cooler Master Choiix Air Through Stash laptop cooler comes into play.

NZXT Hades Crafted Series Tower

Tuesday, 09 March 2010 05:50 Posted By Scott
nzxt hadesI want to thank NZXT for their generosity in sending me one of their crafted series mid-towers.  For our playtime today, we have the Hades, a 9 bay mid-tower full of premium goodies directed at the PC enthusiast crowd.  I have been looking forward to reviewing NZXT products for quite a while.  I keep an eye on the forums of several different sites and have a few friends who also review items and I have never heard anything but great reviews being directed at NZXT.  Always makes me wonder what I could be missing out on.  So when my boss told me to look out for a couple of their cases that were headed my way, I could not help but check frequently for packages on my door step.  A few things jumped out at me as I opened the box and got a look at the Hades. I am not going to tell you what they were now. You will just have to read about it below.

Coolermaster GX 750 Power Supply

Monday, 08 March 2010 08:05 Posted By Tony Walker
coolermaster gx 750Coolermaster realized this and came out with the new GX series of power units. As of this writing, the series consists of three units: 550W, 650W and 750W. The power range is not extreme at all, but the most sought after sweet spot. The entire line-up features a single 12 volt rail, which aims it at individuals needing the most stable power when using dual GPU setups. The largest of the three is Nvidia SLI certified. If you are not interested in the multiple graphic setups, but want great efficiency; well the GX has it as well with the 85% mark on all three units. We will take a short look at the new power supply to see what it has to offer.

Ubisoft DRM Cracked

Saturday, 06 March 2010 21:02 Posted By Clinton

"GAMES PUBLISHER Ubisoft was left with egg on its face after its pitiful attempt at digital rights management was cracked within 24 hours.

Ubisoft managed to generate a storm when it announced its latest DRM policy last week. With previous attempts to protect against so-called 'piracy' failing miserably, Ubisoft thought that by disallowing offline play it could persuade gamers to toe the line."

NVIDIA Drivers Can Kill Your GPU

Saturday, 06 March 2010 14:17 Posted By Clinton

From HardOCP:

"It seems that NVIDIA has pulled its 196.75 drivers because of overheating issues. Apparently there has been a rash of complaints about dead, dying and overheating video cards. The problem seems to be the fan controller in the 196.75 drivers, no word from NVIDIA on the matter yet."
