NZXT Hades Crafted Series Tower

User Rating: / 1PoorBest
nzxt hadesI want to thank NZXT for their generosity in sending me one of their crafted series mid-towers.  For our playtime today, we have the Hades, a 9 bay mid-tower full of premium goodies directed at the PC enthusiast crowd.  I have been looking forward to reviewing NZXT products for quite a while.  I keep an eye on the forums of several different sites and have a few friends who also review items and I have never heard anything but great reviews being directed at NZXT.  Always makes me wonder what I could be missing out on.  So when my boss told me to look out for a couple of their cases that were headed my way, I could not help but check frequently for packages on my door step.  A few things jumped out at me as I opened the box and got a look at the Hades. I am not going to tell you what they were now. You will just have to read about it below.

Thermaltake V3 Black Budget Case

E-mail Print

v3 blackThermaltake has recently released the V3 Black Edition. The press release was listed on many hardware sites. And from the P.R. there was two facts that stood out. The first was the price. The V3 Black, a mid size tower, can be had for a mere $39.99. This is pennies compared to many other cases on the market. The second fact: the V3 Black has a completely black painted interior. This is unheard of in low dollar cases. Leave it to Thermaltake to be the first. But is this all the V3 Black has to offer.

Coolermaster CM690 II Advance Mid Tower

User Rating: / 2PoorBest
CM690 II AdvanceI remember when I tested the Coolermaster CM690. It was one of the best budget cases around. It was so great of a case that many people looking to pay $150 plus for a case were buying the CM690 which cost a mere $80 or so. Even though it was not the first case to offer the now trendy mesh front face, it did help a lot to make it as popular as it is. The CM690 was feature rich for the dollar and is still popular today. But keeping intact with the scenario above Coolermaster has revamped the CM690 into what we will be reviewing today, the CM 690 Advance II. Even more feature rich the Advance II and will undoubtedly make history again.

Coolermaster USP 100 Mid Tower

Coolermaster USP 100 Mid TowerOne of the companies named in the upper paragraph is Coolermaster. Coolermaster is one of those companies that no matter what range of case you are looking for they have you covered. From the budget Sileo and Centurion to the awesomely nice ATCS 840. I myself have been a big fan of the HAF 932. But Coolermaster right now is considering the budget minded individual with their next offering. The USP 100 is a mid tower that offers a change in styling that is gamer towards the enthusiast not over-the-top appearance but want some that is not plain and simple. The new red and black design bungled with a 550 watt eXtreme Power Plus PSU even made me thinking about using it in my next build. But is that enough to get you to consider the case? We will see.

NZXT Panzerbox Welded Aluminum Tower

User Rating: / 4PoorBest

NZXT PanzerboxA few months ago, I saw a press release on a new case from NZXT. The case was called the Panzerbox. I am very familiar with NZXT cases and power supplies. I know their quality, so from that point on, I knew I had to get the case. There are many things to love about the Panzerbox: the ability to house a standard ATX motherboard, the attention to welding detail and the massive fans in such a small space. During this review, I am sure I can find more things to like about the Panzerbox. Read along to find out just what they are.

Thermaltake Element Q Mini ITX Case

E-mail Print
User Rating: / 2PoorBest

Thermaltake Element QA case with promise, the new Thermaltake Element Q, or the Q (as we will call it), fits right in home with the other members of the Element series as it shares the same black and red profile as the Element V, T and S. Straight lines, little flash and very attractive, one of the unique things about the Q is that it is one of a few pure ITX cases that allows the user to recycle one of their own 5.25" optical drives instead of using a slim-line drive. But is this the only benefit the Q has to offer to a would-be purchasers? Nope. But you have to read on to find out what else.

Thermaltake Element V Full Tower

thermaltake element vBut there is one group of individuals that have not been given a case from the Element series. This group of individuals are the enthusiasts or extreme overclockers that go beyond air cooling and single GPU setups. These people are looking for a case that can house all their water-cooling gear as well as their multi-GPU installs. The same group of people that may have a have multiple raid configurations or just want a big case. The new Element V is that case.

Lancool Dragon Lord PC-K58 Tower

E-mail Print
Lancool K58wWell, we finally got our chance to play with one of the bigger cases in the Lancool line up, the PC-K58. The K58 looks much like the K56, but 30mm taller, a little bit heavier and with a re-designed top panel. I stated earlier that I wanted very much to review the K58 and the above is just a small reason on why. Entry level or not, I can't wait to dig into this case to see just what more is different with the K58.

Coolermaster Sileo 500 Tower

Sileo 500Coolermaster is adding there touch to another budget with some high-end features. The Sileo is a steel case with aluminum front facial that is simplistic to a point and remains visually attractive. Inside the tower Coolermaster loaded the sides of the case with sound dampening material and maintained the tool-less functionality that we have come to see from Coolermaster. What else does the Sileo have stored inside? Read on to find out.

Coolermaster Elite 100 Mini ITX Case

E-mail Print
colermaster elite 100They say, "big things come in small packages." If this is true, they must have had the Coolermaster Elite 100 in mind. While a lot of extra small cases can only handle an ITX motherboard, this new case can give you extra support for a mATX motherboard. Motherboard support isn't all the Elite 100 has to offer. It can mount to the back of any monitor with VESA mounting holes. This last one may have caught your attention, so while we have it, let's get into the review before you go drifting off.

Coolermaster GX 750 Power Supply

Monday, 08 March 2010 08:05 Posted By Tony Walker
coolermaster gx 750Coolermaster realized this and came out with the new GX series of power units. As of this writing, the series consists of three units: 550W, 650W and 750W. The power range is not extreme at all, but the most sought after sweet spot. The entire line-up features a single 12 volt rail, which aims it at individuals needing the most stable power when using dual GPU setups. The largest of the three is Nvidia SLI certified. If you are not interested in the multiple graphic setups, but want great efficiency; well the GX has it as well with the 85% mark on all three units. We will take a short look at the new power supply to see what it has to offer.

Ubisoft DRM Cracked

Saturday, 06 March 2010 21:02 Posted By Clinton

"GAMES PUBLISHER Ubisoft was left with egg on its face after its pitiful attempt at digital rights management was cracked within 24 hours.

Ubisoft managed to generate a storm when it announced its latest DRM policy last week. With previous attempts to protect against so-called 'piracy' failing miserably, Ubisoft thought that by disallowing offline play it could persuade gamers to toe the line."

NVIDIA Drivers Can Kill Your GPU

Saturday, 06 March 2010 14:17 Posted By Clinton

From HardOCP:

"It seems that NVIDIA has pulled its 196.75 drivers because of overheating issues. Apparently there has been a rash of complaints about dead, dying and overheating video cards. The problem seems to be the fan controller in the 196.75 drivers, no word from NVIDIA on the matter yet."
